Anyone reading this should have at least a very basic knowledge of GTA San Andreas and CnR.

As a Police Officer, the 2 most important commands are /ar and /tk, which are used to arrest and ticket suspects. Alternatively, you can use the Sub Mission Button. By default, this is the number 2 on the number pad when inside a vehicle and Middle Mouse Button when outside a vehicle.

/lock or /lk will lock your vehicle. If you leave your vehicle, even for only a couple of seconds, it’s always best to lock it to make sure it won’t get stolen. This should become a habit after some time.

As a cop, /war and /sus are commands you'll use on a regular basis. /war will bring up a list with the 10 closest wanted criminals (Wanted Level 6-10). At the top will be the closest one, and at the bottom is the furthest one.
/sus does the same thing, but it shows both ticketable suspects (Wanted Level 1-5), as well as wanted suspects (Wanted Level 6-10).

On the left is the suspects list. On the right is the warrants list.

The /crimes <id or partial name> command will pull up a list of the 5 last crimes committed by a civilian/suspect.

There will be times when you'll need backup from other officers. In that case you can use the /bk or /backup command. When using the command, your blip will turn purple on other cops' minimap. A message will also be send through the police channel, giving them your name and your current location. The message will look like this:

You’ve probably already seen this somewhere:

Things to know about the car health system:
- - In CnR, a normal occupied vehicle with full car health should show a health of 996.0. If the vehicle is occupied and the car health stays at 1000.0, it usually means you’re dealing with a cheater.
- “Right after a car goes on fire or blows up, its car health goes up to a high number around 65000. Is the suspect hacking?”
No, not necessarily. Usually if this happens, it’s a general SAMP de-sync issue. The car blew up on the suspect’s screen, but just not on yours.

As a Police Officer, you'll have a rank. The rank itself is only useful for bribing and reporting, which will be covered in the next 2 sections, and also for refilling.
As a cop, you can always refill your health and armor for free at the PD. Just walk up to the bot inside the PD and hit the Sub Mission Button (on the standard configuration, this is 2 on the numberpad) or type /buy. A menu will open up and you can refill your health and armor with the first and second options.

To access the refill menu walk up to the bot inside the PD, hit the Sub Mission Button and select the third option or simply type /rf or /refill inside any PD.

The following list shows the different ranks:
- Level 1 - Rank: Officer in Training
- Level 2 - Rank: Foot Patrol
- Level 3 - Rank: Officer
- Level 4 - Rank: Officer
- Level 5 - Rank: Sergeant
- Level 6 - Rank: Sergeant
- Level 7 - Rank: Lieutenant
- Level 8 - Rank: Lieutenant
- Level 9 - Rank: Captain
- Level 10 - Rank: Commissioner

Besides arresting a suspect, you can also choose to accept a bribe. When a bribe is offered to you, it will look like this:

*Extra Info: When refusing a bribe the suspect is not allowed to kill you unless it actually makes him wanted (Wanted level 5 to 6) or when it makes him most wanted (from wanted level 9 to 10).

Sometimes you'll come across a situation where a civilian doesn't automatically get wanted when committing a crime. This includes chainsaw attacks, stomping your vehicle, attacking with melee weapons, and so on. To help you with this, CnR has a report command. To report someone, type /rp <Partial name or id> <Reason of the report>. Reporting someone will make their wanted level go up by 1 level.
Attention: You can't report people for speeding or driving on the wrong side of the road.
Probably even more important to mention than the /rp command itself, is the /clr or /cancellastreport command. If you report someone by accident, you can quickly type /clr to clear the report and make the civilian innocent again. You can only do this if no ticket has been issued yet.

One of the last important commands you might need is /vc. It is used to report visual contact with a suspect. This is handy when, for instance, you're out of the city chasing someone, you have to go for a repair but you don't want the suspect to lose their wanted level when they get away from you since you want to catch up again after. At this point, you can use /vc to 'lock' the suspect's wanted level for a certain amount of time. This gives you the chance to fix your vehicle and catch back up afterwards without having your suspect losing their wanted level.

When you spawn, you’re going to have to pick one of the many police vehicles available at the PD. We’ll be focusing on the standard Police cruisers: the LSPD, SFPD, and LVPD ones.
Which one you choose depends on which one you like best. There are some things you should know:
LSPD and SFPD Cruisers:
- + Durable (Takes less damage in vehicle crashes)
+ Less slippery
+ Good road holding
- Slow acceleration
- + Fast Acceleration
- Less durable (Takes more damage in vehicle crashes)
- Slippery
- Bad road holding (Tends to flip more easily)
Using a civilian vehicle and not being able to arrest from it is NOT an excuse to just drive-by the suspect to death and saying you “couldn’t arrest"!

At every PD and gas station, you’ll find a checkpoint to repair, respawn, and add NOS to your vehicle. Adding NOS to your vehicle gives it the ability to accelerate faster. This can come in handy to give you that little extra speed in the beginning to catch up to your suspect again. However, NOS does not increase the maximum speed of the vehicle! It only helps in accelerating.

Since Version 16, cops are also able to buy a vehicle repair kit at the PD repair checkpoints. This is something they can use to fix their vehicle at any time or location. It costs around 10 to 20k. To use the repair kit, just stop your vehicle, get out of it, type in the command /vehrepair and it'll be fixed right away, ready to go!

Now that we have a car and NOS equipped, it's time to prepare ourselves in case things turn against us. In CnR, there will be situations where you'll get shot at. In these cases, it might be useful to have donuts. Donuts refill 50% of your health. When you're getting shot at, these might save your life. You can carry a total of 6 donuts.
Where to find donuts?
There are various places around San Andreas where you can buy donuts. The most obvious one is at any of the 3 donut shops located around the cities:

Another item, similar to the donut, is the Adrenaline Pill. There are 3 big differences between them. The first is that you can carry 1 pill. They also differ by the Adrenaline Pill completely refilling all of your health instantly. The third difference is that it also cures any diseases you might have.
You can pick these up at any hospital around San Andreas by entering the checkpoint and selecting option number 10. For the locations of these hospitals, click here. Hospitals are also indicated on the minimap with the following icon:

A chastity belt is another handy item to have as a Police Officer. It protects you from civilians that might rape you. Rape can cause you to get disease(s). A disease will slowly (or fast, depending on what kind of disease and how many of them you have) drain your health down to 0 and kill you. A belt, however, can be broken and you might get infected. They can be picked up at any hospital by entering the checkpoint and choosing the 11th option. With that being said, it's a good idea to also get some condoms, which is covered in the next section.

Something else that protects you against diseases, and probably even better than a chastity belt, are condoms. Condoms will always protect you against rape and can't be broken or damaged. You will be able to carry 10 of them. You can buy condoms at any of the hospitals, sex shops, 24/7's, RPC's, and from medics.

When you die, your current life will always continue. The only thing you'll pay are medical fees, which depends on how much money you have. The more money, the higher the fee. You also lose all of your weapons. To prevent this, you can get Life Insurance. Life Insurance only costs about 50k and will cover your medical fees and it will also let you keep your weapons when you die. The only downside is that you'll have to go back to City Hall after you die to buy the Life Insurance again.
