Post Vehicle guide (/vehcolor IDs included)
Requested by Affe. Now with 0.01 percent less retardness! (This was made in 2008 so there might be some retarded English language :D )

Welcome to the Vehicle Guide, in this guide, you'll learn (hopefully) all the secrets of vehicle in CnR.

Update : Adding the vehicles colors IDs (The /vehcolor command is available for donating players only.)

All the test (top speeds) were made in CrazyBob's Cops And Robbers, NOT IN SINGLE PLAYER! Maybe you're using different speedometer in SP (which is a mod, and so it's not allowed in CnR), so don't get confused.

To convert km/h to mph, divide the km/h amount with 1.6 then you will get the mph (for example 120km/h = 75 mph)

Meanings/General Tips & Notes
RWD - Rear Wheel Drive
FWD - Front Wheel Drive
4WD - (All) 4 Wheel Drive

ABS = Anti-lock Braking System

Red = Civilian vehicle
Navy = Some of them are civilian vehicle, some of them Law Enforcement vehicle.
Blue = All of the vehicle are Law Enforcement vehicle.
Yellow = Public Transport
Orange = Public Service

"Cars" include Saloons, Sport (and Super), Pick-Up, Lowriders and Station Wagons.

Tip #1: If your vehicle's brake is using front wheel (and it gets locked), it's advised to either brake, stop braking and steer, then again brake etc... to maintain your vehicle's control OR use the handbrake at the same time when you're braking if you want a faster stop.

Tip #2: In oceans or rivers, you're riding a boat. Suddenly, you see a Jaws heading towards you a bit from right. What should you do? Brake and try to avoid it or don't brake? Most people will brake and try to avoid it. This is a complete failure choise. If you're turning to left (to avoid Jaws) and you brake, the propeller will start to "reverse". and your course will turn from left to right, right into Jaws' mouth. Solution to this problem: Do NOT start to brake, only turn to left. And remember, this Jaws has ability to cloak. It uncloaks (automatically) if you're near him about 25-35 feet.

Note #1: Some of the roads (for example: The Strip, Garver Bridge and Mulholland Intersection) are not proper roads. In this case, your vehicle's top speed will be lowered by 15-20%.

Note #2: All bikes except Sanchez will suffer understeering while on grassy/dirty/sandy road. All bikes will automatically start brake if you're driving on the deep sand.

Note #3: Helicopters take reduced amount of damage from weapons (for example, if you shoot at heli using MP5, the heli only takes 10 per hit instead of 25 (max is 1000, but the vehicle will catch up on flames below 250 and will explode after a while.)

The Lag Issue

In Cops And Robbers, there's a known "lag issue", which confuses you. In this theory I try to explain how to fix this.

So let's say, you will try to ram his/her car off the road, but when you hit him, you will lose your control. But he/she is still moving without spinning or flipping upside down. WTF! That's because all players but you see you and your vehicle not in the position you see it, but lagging a certain distance behind him/her that increases with speed. So, if you hit someone, he/she won't even feel it, you'll end up taking 100% of the damage. Also, the higher ping victim have, the more far you have to go in order to PIT him off. Most of people's ping are 200-250, but there are some laggers too (800-900). It's very difficult to successfully PIT them (Yes, I have tried to PIT them too)

Solution to this problem: Before ramming/P.I.T-ing him/her, always go in front of his/her side and ram him! Now the part has changed. He will take 100% of the damage but you don't. If you still can't PIT the victim off, and you have checked the ping, then it's the "Desync". Victim does not see you on his/her monitor, and that's probably because you pause (and it's not allowed). Maybe going inside interior will fix this.

The Nitro

GTA San Andreas has got a new modification for your vehicles, The Nitro! (also known as NOS) What is the Nitro? The Nitros are the "boosters". It boosts your acceleration, but lowers your grip.

There are three types of Nitro

2x Nitro (Can use 2 times) $200 (Mod Shop), $5000 (PD Garage)
5x Nitro (Can use 5 times) $500 (Mod Shop), $10000 (PD Garage)
10x Nitro (Can use 10 times) $1000 (Mod Shop), $15000 (PD Garage)

Note: Nitros are 20 percent more expensive in Las Venturas city area.

Nitro duration time is 20 second and recharge time is 21 second. Note: NOS recharging takes 4x more time to recharge if you're accelerating.

Tip: Want an instant Nitro recharge instead waiting those 21-84 seconds? No problem, just get out from the car and then go back in and the Nitro will be fully charged.

Admiral (445)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_admiral.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 164km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3, dirt, sand and grass = 2)
Drift: 3
Weight: Light-Average
Type: 4-Door, Saloon, FWD, Police Undercover Vehicle

Description
Some of this type car is Police Undercover (black ones), some of them are just normal civilian cars. (Average drift and braking, fine handling + top speed.) Acceleration could be a problem if you're trying to climb grassy/sandy hill. Good for new people.

Description
This car looks like a sport car for me. It has good handling, fine top speed and braking. Acceleration is variable. If you're trying to climb sandy hill, forget about it (unless you reverse up, that could work.)

Alpha (602)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_alpha.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 169km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3.5
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Sport, RWD

Description
Nice looking, fine sport car with pretty high top speed. Good vehicle for beginners.

Banshee (429)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_banshee.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 202km/h
Handling: Variable (Low/med speed = 3.5, high speed = 2.5)
Braking: 4
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 4.5 and dirt, sand and grass = 3.5)
Drift: 3
Weight: Very Light
Type: 2-Door, Super, RWD

Description
Personally, I think this vehicle is OK. It's the fastest car in Los Santos. It has good acceleration too, but the handling is not great at high speed. Plus, the back wheel suspension is bad, it makes you bounce. Drifting is OK, but you may spin over.

Blade (536)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_blade.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 173km/h
Handling: 3
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3.5
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Lowrider, RWD

Description
Well, most of the performance are okay, but you may spin over due of its oversteering. So be carefully while steering in high speed.

Blista Compact (496)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_blista.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 163km/h
Handling: 4
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3, dirt, sand and grass = 1.5)
Drift: 3
Weight: Light

A normal FWD car which has very good handling on road.

Top Speed: 147km/h
Handling: 3
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, dirt, sand and grass = 2)
Drift: 2.5
Weight: Light-Average
Type: 2-Door, Saloon, FWD

Description
Small sized 2-door saloon. Suitable only in city driving. Accelerating on grass, sand or dirt road while trying to climb a hill will be a failure.

Bobcat (422)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_bobcat.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 140km/h
Handling: Variable (Low/Med speed = 3, high speed = 2)
Braking: 3
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 3
Weight: Average
Type: 2-Door, Pick-Up, 4WD

Description
Yay, I see an all wheel drive vehicle. Though this is pick-up, so it's not fast. Hard to control if the speed is too high. Slides easily, even it's 4WD.

Broadway (575)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... ardway.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 158km/h
Handling: Variable (Low/med speed = 3, high speed = 2)
Braking: 3
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, grass, dirt and sand = 2)
Drift: 3
Weight: Average-Heavy
Type: 2-Door, Lowrider, RWD

Description
Yay, the boardway, also known as the "Pimp mobile"! Pretty heavy and suffers from bad understeer if the speed is too high. May be a problem on a tight corner, but the handbrake should fix this.

Buccaneer (518)

Performance
Top Speed: 164km/h
Handling: 2.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, dirt, sand and grass = 1.5)
Drift: 3
Weight: Average
Type: 2-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
Pretty fast longish vehicle. Just like bravura, suitable only in city. (Climbing non-road hills will most likely fail.)

Buffalo (402)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_buffalo.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 186km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 4.5
Drift: 3.5

Handling: 4
Braking: 4
Acceleration: 4.5
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Very Light

Top Speed: 149km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
Some people call this car ugly. But, let's not think about that. This car has fine top speed, handling, braking and drifting is pretty easy, too. Nothing more to say about this fine vehicle.

Cheetah (415)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_cheetah.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 193km/h
Handling: Variable (Low/med speed = 4,5, high speed = 3.5)
Braking: 4
Acceleration: 4.5
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Very Light
Type: 2-Door, Super, RWD

Description
Second fastest car in Los Santos. Actually this car is better than Banshee due of Cheetah's better suspension and handling. If you lose control it's pretty easy to take the control back.

Clover (542)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_clover.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 164km/h
Handling: 2.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
A muscle car. The performance is still OK to me. Handling is only below the average, because it may "over turn". Otherwise, it's fine. Good for newcomers.

Club (589)

Performance
Top Speed: 164km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, grass = 2.5, sand = 1.5)
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Sport, RWD

Description
Looks like sport Volkswagen Golf GTI for me. Everything are fine, expect the acceleration at grassy or sandy ground. Grassy is ok, but sandy and going up, you'll most likely slide down.

Comet (480)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_comet.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 184km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 4
Drift: 4
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Sport, 4WD

Description
Excellent car. It's the second fastest car in San Fierro City. Great top speed and good acceleration. Drifting is easy, you just need to know how and when to use your handbrake. Braking and handling are fine.

Elegy (562)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_elegy.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 177km/h
Handling: Variable (Road = 3.5, sand and grass = 2.5)
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 4, grass = 2, sand = 1.5
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Sport, RWD

Description
Looks like Nissan Skyline GT-R. Good top speed and acceleration on road. Don't even try accelerating at sand, it'll drop the acceleration rate to 1.5. But otherwise, it's great car for me. Good for beginners.

Emperor (585)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_emperor.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 153km/h
Handling: 3
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 3
Weight: Light
Type: 4-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
Slower than premier, a 4-door sedan is a good normal civilian car that cops can use too. Top speed is fine, same at braking (locks your back wheels). Good car for beginners.

Esperanto (419)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... eranto.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 149km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 2.5
Weight: Light-Average
Type: 2-Door, Saloon, RWD

Moderate saloon. I like this car's brakes. It doesn't lock up. A fine car, I must say. Good for beginners.

Euros (587)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_euros.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 165km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 4
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Sport, 4WD

Description
Fine sport car with all-wheel-drive. Though it's slower than bullet or banshee. Otherwise, great car.

Feltzer (533)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_feltzer.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 167km/h
Handling: 4
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 4
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Convertible, RWD

Description
Pretty fast car with good handling. Drifting is easy, and you won't lose your control, so don't worry (expect you go to dirty, sandy or grassy ground, it'll automatically start to slide.)

Flash (565)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_flash.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 165km/h
Handling: 4
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, grass and dirt = 2, sand = 1.5)
Drift: 3
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Sport, FWD

Description
Sport vehicle with good handling and top speed. Drifting is average and braking is fine. However, accelerating at sandy/grassy road is the problem (just like Jester).

Fortune (526)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_fortune.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 156km/h
Handling: 4
Braking: 3
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, dirt, sand and grass = 2.5)
Drift: 3.5
Weight: Light-Average
Type: 2-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
A 2-door sedan vehicle, named "Fortune" is supposed to be "lucky car". Well, the handling is good and it's pretty easy to drift. However, acceleration has some minor problem when accelerating at grassy/sandy/dirty road.

Glendale (466)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... endale.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 147km/h
Handling: Variable (Road = 3, dirt, sand and grass = 1.5)
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, dirt, sand and grass = 1.5)
Drift: 2.5
Weight: Average
Type: 4-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
First 4-door vehicle in this list ^^. This vehicle is OK in city, but while you're on offroad, then you'll most likely fail with this car. You may spin over, so be carefully while steering.

Hermes (474)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... endale.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 149km/h
Handling: 3
Braking: 3
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, dirt, sand and grass = 1.5)
Drift: 2
Weight: Average
Type: 2-Door, Saloon, FWD

Description
One of the vehicle equipped with anti-lock braking system. Still, it seems the anti-lock braking works only if you're braking and not steering. Though you can still control your vehicle without spinning.

Infernus (411)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... fernus.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 221km/h
Handling: Variable (Low/med speed = 4, high speed = 3, very high speed = 2.5)
Braking: 2.5
Acceleration: 4.5
Drift: 4
Weight: Very Light
Type: 2-Door, Super, 4WD

Description
A Honda NSX look like vehicle is the fastest car in the San Andreas. It has great acceleration (Though the Turismo's acceleration is better). But I'm pretty disappointed about this car's brake. Braking locks all of your four wheels. You should early before corners if you have high or very high speed. Also this vehicle takes pretty easily damages.

Intruder (546)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... truder.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 149km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 3
Weight: Light-Average
Type: 4-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
Fine looking intruder with fine top speed, handling and braking + acerage acceleration and drift. Not a bad car.

Jester (559)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_jester.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 177km/h
Handling: Variable (Road = 4, sand and grass = 2.5)
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, grass, sand and dirt = 1.5
Drift: 2.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Sport, RWD

Description
Pretty quick and short sport car. Though this sport car is only excellent in city, but if you go to off-road, (LV Desert), then you fail. Handling excellent in city road, below average on off-road.

Majestic (517)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... jestic.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 157km/h
Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 3
Weight: Average
Type: 2-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
Another normal saloon car that behaves nicely. Well, the brakes will lock the rear wheels, but the car sticks to the road.

Merit (551)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_merit.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 157km/h
Handling: 4
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, grass and dirt = 2, sand = 1.5)
Drift: 3
Weight: Light-Average
Type: 4-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
Personally, I like this car. Two of these cars spawns right outside of PD at the alleyway. I believe they are supposed to be getaway-car. The only bad thing of this car is, at acceleration it acts like Flash or Jester. (You know what I mean.)

Moonbeam (418)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... onbeam.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 115km/h
Handling: 4
Braking: 4
Acceleration: 2
Drift: 2
Weight: Heavy
Type: 4-Door, Station Wagon, RWD

Description
Good handling and quick braking, bad top speed and acceleration. So, you probably know that drifting is also pretty hard.

Handling: 4
Braking: 2.5

Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3
Drift: 2.5
Weight: Average

Picador, one of the pickup truck is good for newcomers. Top speed and acceleration are average, while handling and braking are a bit above than average. You can't drift well.

Fine saloon. Powerful brakes, and good handling too. But the downside of this car is just like Nebula. Accelerating at grassy/sandy ground is impossible if you're trying to go up.

Primo (547)

Top Speed: 140km/h
Handling: 3.5

Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3.5
Drift: 2.5
Weight: Light
Type: 2-Door, Lowride, RWD

Description
This lowride is sweet. It has fine top speed, braking (although it locks your back wheels, it's still fine) and acceleration. The only bad thing is the drift and handling if the speed is high. You'll spin over, so be careful when nearing curve.

Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, grass, sand and dirt = 1.5
Drift: 3
Weight: Average
Type: 2-Door, Sport (Muscle), RWD

Description
Real American muscle (though it's classified as sport). Hard to control this vehicle if the speed is too high, otherwise this is a fine car. Driving this car in city or small town are the only best choises.

Probably the fastest lowrider. Well, there are bad sides too. For example, if you're accelerating WHILE steering, it suffers a bad understeer. So, in this car, remember to not... or should I say forget accelerating while steering.

Sentinel (405)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_veh ... ntinel.jpg

Acceleration: Variable (Road = 3.5, grass and dirt = 2, sand = 1.5)
Drift: 3
Weight: Average
Type: 4-Door, Saloon, RWD

Description
Nice looking 4-door saloon. Too bad this acts like Nebula or Previon when climbing grassy/sandy hills. You'll most likely lose your control if you steer too powerful at grassy/dirty/sandy roads when the speed is too fast. Brakes are fine, and you can drift too. Just be careful when drifting.

Slamvan (535)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_slamvan.jpg

Handling: 4
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 4.5
Drift: 4

Description
This sport car reminds Subaru Impreza. Acceleration is much better than Elegy, but the trade-off is top speed. But, it's still good class, so who cares. Sultan in one of my favorite cars. It's easy to drift, braking time is pretty short.

Yeah, fine sport car, too. The only bad thing of this car is that it oversteers a lot. I've lose many times the control of this car and the result was a fishtail. Not recommended for newcomers. Hard to return your vehicle's control if the speed is too high.

Probably the best car in the San Andreas. Not the fastest one, but its acceleration is so fucking great. I HIGHLY recommend this car for you people. With its all wheel drive it's easy to drift. This car reminds me Ferrari F40.

The best lowrider. It has powerful brakes and ABS. Stick to the road too, but if the speed is too high, then controlling the car would be a problem.

Just like Vincent, another family saloon car. Worse version of Vincent. This got both low and high speed problems. You suffer bad understeer in low speed, but in high speed you start to slide due of its bad grip.

Braking: 3
Acceleration: 2
Drift: 1
Weight: Heavy
Type: 2-Door, Truck, RWD

Description
Heavy and longish truck. Handling is not so good. Don't even try to drift with this, it's impossible. Due of the sync problems and lag, you may not be able to carry some vehicles. Suffers understeering if the speed is too fast-

Acceleration: 2.5
Drift: 2
Weight: Heavy
Type: 4-Door, Armoured Van, RWD

Description
Fast, but hard to control due of its weight. (And it's armored too). You'll receive a good price if you sell this to the Ocean Docks car crane, but watch out for cops!

Looks like a hippy vehicle if it uses special paint, otherwise just a slow van. Rumor says this vehicle's engine is from 1970. No wonder why the acceleration sucks.

Type: Bike, RWD

Description
Probably the best bike ever (NRG-500 does not spawn, it was removed for a reason.), this one can go over 200km/h as max speed. I highly suggest to use handbrake while braking, because this bike uses its front bike to brake.

Freeway (463)
Image: http://www.g-unleashed.com/files/16_vehicle_freeway.jpg

Performance
Top Speed: 185km/h

Handling: 3.5
Braking: 3.5
Acceleration: 3-4
Drift: 3
Weight: Light-Average

Fastest truck in CnR (unfortunately this is Law Enf. Vehicle, so we can't do truck deliveries with this). It has fine top speed and acceleration on road. Handling is fine also on the road, but when you're trying to accelerate at grass/sand, especially going up a hill, you'll probably slide down.

Type: 4-Door, Saloon, RWD, Police Undercover (Law Enf. Vehicle)

Description
One of the undercover police vehicle in SF. (Non-civilian car) This is different like Elegant. Unlike the Elegant, this vehicle oversteers easily and therefore it has pretty big risk that it spins over if you turn too much. So be careful. Otherwise, I like this car.

Spin left if you hit your left BACK wheel and right if you hit your right BACK wheel.

Post Re: Vehicle guide
Fuck just noticed there was a section for it, could someone moderator please move it there?

4WD = 4-wheel drive
AWD = all wheel drive

I don't see any differences except the A and the 4, their meaning is the same I believe.

Danke Ninou :)

To be honest, I didn't plan to make a newer version because it was too old, but since Affe asked me to post this then maybe I'll do few updates.

Crap, now I'll have to convert all of this to mph. At least now this'll put an end to "What's the fastest car in the game."

Oh, and Broadway is spelled wrong. :D

I have also thought about suggesting to move the guide here, but affe did it first :>

I'm still gonna use the thread on the old forums though, because it is superior :)
